How do you turn a small idea into a big image? And how do you paint together as if you’re working on a real mural?
On Sunday, March 29, children will dive into the world of street art with artist and illustrator Ed Oner during Crossing Border Kids. In this workshop, they will work together on a large canvas designed like a mural. Sketching, planning, choosing colours, and painting at scale—everything revolves around building one image together.
Ed Oner grew up in Casablanca and started out as a graffiti artist. His work focuses on people, memories, and everyday life. His large murals combine portraits and typography, telling stories that immediately resonate. This way of working forms the foundation of the workshop.
The children learn how a mural is prepared, from the first sketch to a full composition. They work with scale, colour, and collaboration, and experience how individual ideas come together as one beautiful whole.
Ed Oner will also briefly talk about his work as an illustrator and show how his visual language appears in the book Buscando a Ahmed, about a boy searching for his older brother in a big city.
This programme is for children aged 8 to 12. The programme takes place twice: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00.
Admittance for parents/supervisors is free. Adult supervision required and maximum one accompanying adult per child.
